The pro-choice movement is rooted in classism, discrimination based upon one’s social or economic class (or caste). Margret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, believed that the lower classes should not be able to reproduce, as their children would be a burden upon society. This belief is carried on by the Planned Parenthood of today, which operates the majority of its clinics in low income areas and claims that poor women need abortions to drag themselves out of poverty. It ignores the foster care and welfare systems designed to help people who find themselves unexpectedly pregnant and unable to provide on their own. It preys on women who want help with an unplanned pregnancy, convincing them they cannot possibly work and take care of a child. It ignores the 66% of single mothers with a job. Planned Parenthood, the figurehead of the American abortion industry, convinces lower class women that they need to kill their children.
The only real choice is to promote adoption and make workplaces more accessible to pregnant women and mothers. Give donations to those who need them rather than promote this abhorrent choice.
