Eight percent of children with Down syndrome are not aborted. That being said ninety-two percent of children with Down syndrome are aborted. Eight out of 100 children with Down syndrome are aborted. Does that number make you sick to your stomach? It made Ohio's legislative committee's stomachs turn so badly that it was outlawed.
Some have said to me tings such as "What if they don't have time to take care of a special needs child?" Most parents are with their child for the first few months non-stop. On top of that, yes you may have to give the child a little more attention when in development but, it's a part of life. A parent should not just kill a child based on if they have a disability or not. Most people I have talked to who have had some form of disability say they wouldn't have it any other way. It's what they know.
Taking away a life because you feel like it is less valuable than others is selfish. Killing a child causes one to prevent the child from reaching their full potential.
