As pro-life people, we tend to get focused on the beginning of life. That is, conception, the fetus, the heartbeat, and so on. But what about after a child is born? Do we still show care for ALL people's lives as pro-life members of this world?
One day at school, one of the students in my class was having a rough day. There was a lot of stuff going on at home, and it was clear that it was all weighing him down. After just one other student reached out to him, a group of people came together to show their support and to show that they care about him. This small but meaningful moment proved to me that not only can I be a positive influence in people's lives, but so can someone's peers! Being a proponent of life means more than the grand gestures of going out to protest, or even donating $1,000 to a charity. Being a proponent of life means supporting life from start to finish——and everywhere in between. The students in my class showed their support for a hurt classmate, and we can all do the same.
Out there in our society, people are broken, both physically and emotionally, lost, hungry, cold, cynical, hateful, and angry. These are the people that are so often overlooked or left alone, but they are the people that need our love the most. In this season of thankfulness and giving, let us remember to support life at ALL AGES. My heart has truly been moved to see how each soul can be positively affected by the life of another. I feel that one of our main purposes as a pro-life generation is to show everyone around us how important their lives are——to you, to me, to their community, and to this world.
