Disclaimer: As you read this article I will be talking about circumcision and not referring to the gender of the person. Many people can identify as a female gender while having a penis. The words it, them, and their will be used interchangeably due to social reasoning. I, Klara McKee, am a full supporter of whatever anyone chooses to identify with, therefore I like to include everyone and be as understanding as possible. I truly do not mean to offend anyone while reading this article, the people of the world have yet to come up with a word that combines both sexes into one.
The majority of my friends are pro-choice and I respect their values and beliefs as they do mine. And we are able to have discussions about our views so we can have more insight into what each other is thinking. That’s what I ask you to take away from this if anything. Realizing that you can be friends and have friends with people that are different and have different beliefs than you. Also, the big one, what do you think is morally correct? Should you cut off your child’s foreskin or not? I encourage you to respond in the comments with your personal views on this topic.
There are many complications that can arise with any medical procedure, and that is a risk taken every time a circumcision takes place. I look at this from a pro-life prospective, it is not my body, I do not have the right to harm them, I should just be a gentle hand to guide and nurture. I was told by someone “You do not have a penis to get a circumcision, why are you talking about this?” My response, “Because harming young children has become a social norm for vanity.” Some may ask, “What?” I will say, a circumcision is a cosmetic procedure. People cut off the foreskin of their children’s penis because they find it more astatically pleasing.
