Women's rights. In the Pro-Choice movement, as well as much of the mainstream media, this term has become synonymous with the protection of abortion. Since it is a "women's rights" issue, guys like myself should take a seat and let the girls talk about it. That's the way it should be. Isn't it?
If you are pro-life, you have to understand that this is a human issue that affects all of us. It isn't as though only one sex is affected. Both male and female children are aborted(sex is determined at conception along with hair color, eye color, etc.). If anything, abortion is greatly anti-women's rights. Due greatly to the fact that gender code is a real concern throughout the world. We discussed these ideas with the ladies for about an hour, and then something odd happened. A group of guys came up to us and began to defend the pro-choice side.
Finding pro-choice guys is not what was odd about the situation. You have many men(especially college guys) that identify as "bro-choice". Many have this view because they want sex without responsibility. Abortion can easily cut out an event that would change their lives. The young ladies had no problem with these guys helping them out. So what happened to the idea that guys have no say? Pro-choicers are 100% fine with pro-choice guys. It has nothing to do with someone's sex, but only their views. As pro-life guys, we have to speak up for what we think is right. We can't let the label of "women's rights" scare us away.
There are plenty of arguments for men becoming involved in the pro-life movement, but the most important is to remember that this is a human right's issue. Not only a women's rights issue. Remember that they don't want men to be silent, just pro-life men. So get out there and be proud to be a pro-life guy!
