Sometimes facing a huge moral issue becomes daunting, because the answer seems so obvious. It just makes sense for those who ARE alive to try to support life in every way possible. When I feel overwhelmed, it helps to step back and see all those around me who are also fighting for the same cause. These people have used their publicity to fight for life, and support their fellow pro-lifers.
1. Justin Bieber
Back in Bieber’s glory days (16 years old), Rolling Stone asked him what position he held on the issue of abortion. Bieber responded:
“I really don’t believe in abortion. It’s like killing a baby.”
That’s exactly what it is, Justin! Even though he’s gone through some changes in the past couple of years, Bieber is still pro-life.
2. Kenny Chesney
Popular country music artist, Kenny Chesney, proudly professed his support of the pro-life movement through his song, There Goes My Life. It spent seven weeks at number one, and it tells the story of a teenager whose girlfriend gets pregnant and has the baby rather than having an abortion. The teen initially believes that his life has been ruined, but in the end, he realizes how much of a blessing the child is.
3. Matt Birk
Matt Birk was the Baltimore Raven’s Center up until his retirement in 2013, following 15 seasons and a Super bowl win. After the Super bowl, the winning team is always invited to the White House to meet the President. Just a few weeks before, however, President Obama openly stated, “God bless Planned Parenthood”. Birk’s response? He didn’t take part.
“I am active in the Pro-Life movement and I just felt like I couldn’t deal with that. I couldn’t endorse that in any way.”
4. Jordin Sparks
Jordin Sparks, American Idol season 6 winner, has held onto her pro-life stance through publicity and rising popularity.
She sang at Phoenix, Arizona’s pro-life rally in 2005 and 2006.
5. Tim Tebow
Tim Tebow, a famous football player, has always carried his Christian views with him, on and off the football field. Tebow is pro-life because doctors told his mother it would be smart to abort him while she was pregnant. She refused, and Tebow lived and now protects other babies in danger of abortion.
6. Chuck Norris
Everyone’s favorite “manly man” is even more manly than we previously thought- Chuck Norris supports the pro-life movement! In fact, he is a weekly columnist with WorldNetDaily, a conservative news network. Read one of his most inspiring posts here.
“Instead of killing, we say aborting; instead of dissect, we say research; instead of extermination chambers, we say abortion clinics.”
7. Martin Sheen
Martin Sheen is an actor, staring in Gettysburg (1993), The Departed (2006), and The Amazing Spiderman (2012). Even though he is very liberal, Sheen is extremely pro-life. He supports the right to life because his wife’s mother considered abortion, and even dumping the child in the Ohio River, but instead gave birth. Sheen and his wife have been happily married for over 50 years.
8. Steve Jobs
Possibly the greatest inventor and entrepreneur of our time, the CEO of Apple, Inc. was almost aborted. However, his mother chose life and gave Jobs up for adoption. In the 80s, Jobs hired a private detective to help him find his birthmother. They later met, he thanked her for choosing life, and she burst into tears. Our world would look a lot different if she had chosen any differently! If only mothers could see the futures of their beautiful children, abortion would not exist.
9. Andrea Bocelli
When his mother was hospitalized for a simple appendicitis attack the doctors covered her stomach in ice. When all the treatments were over the doctors suggested that she abort the child as the baby would be born with some disabilities. However the young, brave wife decided not to abort and the child was born. That child was Andrea Bocelli, one of the world's greatest opera singers.
10. Phil Robertson
In a video featuring Duck Dynasty’s Robertson, the TV star – in what appears to be a religious sermon – declares his pro-life stance on the issue of abortion.
“Listen, from the time you started inside your mother’s womb, Thomas Jefferson had it right, you have the God-given right to life for crying out loud. You’re this long (pointing to his finger). You’re a week old inside your mother. They suck you out of there when you’re about like that (pointing to finger again). You wouldn’t be here tonight!"
